The first event in Romania dedicated exclusively to horror and fantasy cinema was initiated in 2012 and takes place in August in Biertan, in the county of Sibiu.
Hundreds of fans of the genre travel every summer to “Full Moon” finding accommodation at local guest houses, as well as in an organized camping. Biertan is the ideal place for open air screenings, with its central square located in front of a splendid fortified church, an architectural master piece, part of the UNESCO heritage.
24 features and 18 shorts selected from over 2 300 films, a throbbing cine-concert, a horrific make-up workshop, bike rides, escape rooms, a terrifying concert, a handmade fair, these were the main attractions of the 8th edition of the “Full Moon” Horror and Fantasy Film Festival in 2019.
The 2020 edition was cancelled due to safety concerns in the small community of Biertan.
